Bioswale Garden

The bioswale garden was designed not only to be a colorful display for the entrance of the Cornell Botanic Gardens, but also as a way to filter surface water runoff from our parking lot. The plants used in this garden are hardy and able to tolerate varying weather conditions. As water infiltrates into the soil, micro-organisms on these plants' roots and in the soil will break down pollutants from the parking lot that combine with stormwater.
